Family History Research:
Researching ones family history, can be the most enjoyable and sometimes daunting experience one can endure.
With the help of the computer and genealogy websites, as well as the T.V. Who do you think you are, Find my past, Heir Hunters, ect. Genealogy as become the most popular pastime ever, within the last decade more and more people are starting to research their family tree.
But what are we looking for, how deep are we prepared go, to find the truth of our ancestors. (read on to find out more.)
When most people start to research their family tree, its like I have a “free weekend” or “a week holiday” and take up a 14 day free trial, with one of the top website, it well tell you to start with yourself, and before you know it, you gone back 2, 3, 4 hundred years, because someone before you, have put their tree on the website, and names, dates and places all match and everything hunky dory, you say to yourself “that the family tree done, what am I going to do for the rest of the week.” I’m sorry to disappoint you, but can you really be sure, the tree which connect to you tree is right, how do you know that the person whose tree you are connected to as not made any mistakes?.
I started researching my Family History in the late 90's, and found my vocation in life, and now helping others to find out who they are. When I first started I made mistakes, I took for granted what other had told me, who am I to question them, (I know nothing).
I don't know what year I started to ask question about 2005 I think. But the question are always there if we look at a document let say a marriage certificate and the father name is John Smith, occupation Tailor (how do we know it true) the couple who got married may of lied, we take it for granted that its an official document so it must be true. We also know our date of birth, because our parents told us, and we all have a birth certificate to prove it, (O.K. So I’m going a bit to far now,) what I’m trying to say is don't take anything for granted, check, than double check, than check again.
Some of the problems I have had to face came as early as my grandmother (Dolly) Elizabeth Ann Lee a great old stick who died in 1972, she was born on the 27th January 1898, all the family knows her birthday. So in 2005 when I order her birth certificate her birth date was the 19th January her Father was Richard and her Mother was Jane formerly Dickerson, so what gone wrong the family knows her father was Albert George and Mother Elizabeth Ann Parkinson, I order my Grandmothers' marriage certificate, the family was right the father was Albert George, so why can't I find her birth, I order Albert marriage certificate to see if that would help, it did Albert and Elizabeth married in April 1898 four months after my nan’s birth so I look for and order her birth certificate in the name of Parkinson no Father name just her mother's name Elizabeth Ann Parkinson born on the 27th January 1898 in the Chelsea Workhouse. (The family didn't know that.)
That’s just one instance of many, I could go on but wont.
How many of as find out what our ancestors were really like, as I said before “ how deep are we prepared go, to find out the truth of our ancestors,” do we really what to know if any family members had to steal to feed or clothe their children, or an ancestor who committed suicide, or maybe if an ancestor was fined for not sending the children to school, maybe you had an ancestor who win a competition, the other side of the fence would be murder or rape, how deep are you prepared to dig, to find out the truth about your ancestors.
Most family history report will have names, dates and places with census report, but with robresearch he will dig that little bit deeper to found out your family secrets.
To see what I mean go to James John Pluckrose.

I make no excuses for my poor grammar and spelling, or any mistake found within this website.
I was born in Chelsea London in the year of 1960, I hear you saying "poor grammar and spelling boy, you was born in Chelsea," I was born in Edith Grove, the gotto end of Chelsea, the World's End, named by King Charles II who stopped there on his way to the Palace and said "this place look like the end of the world." But it was home to me where front doors were left open and the mums cleaned the pavement outside of the house, that was the 60's, come the 70's and the arrival of the World's end estate, all was lost, respect for the your neighbours and elderly alike, the World's end community died in the late 70's, my family moved out to Raynes Park in the early 80's.
I'am now a self taught researcher of Family History and True Crime.
I've read hundreds of stories on all types of True Crime for over thirty years, and researching for about 5 years, read my stories in True Crime.
